My name is Jackie Bourne.  I have always been creative, and stitch is where I found my happy place.  I live near the Coast in Devon, and my local area gives me all the inspiration I need.

I create pictures using free motion machine embroidery. I love to  take photographs of things that inspire me in my local area.  

 

 These pictures give me a good starting point.  I use my  sewing machine like a pencil to draw a picture, which I then paint into.  And finally, I fill the piece with vibrant free motion stitching. 

 

My recent obsession has been with the beautiful variety of pebbles on my local beach, and I can spend quite some time moving them into pleasing groups  before photographing them.   There are endless possibilities with the pictures I take!

I also love Dartmouth and the surrounding are,, especially the view of the town from the River Dart.

My original pieces of work take many hours to complete.  They all have a lovely bound edge and are ready for mounting in your choice of frame.
